The AWARE project, an Erasmus+ initiative, announces the publication of the “Awareness Raising Handbook”, a comprehensive guide designed to promote mental health awareness among students, staff, and faculty of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
The AWARE project is a collaborative effort by five European organisations: SPOŁECZNA AKADEMIA NAUK, KMOP-EDUCATION AND INNOVATION HUB, CARDET, SPECTRUM RESEARCH CENTRE, and UNIVERSIDAD DEL PAIS VASCO/EUSKAL HERRIKO UNIBERTSITATEA. The project aims to foster a supportive and empathetic environment within European HEIs, ensuring that mental well-being remains a top priority for both students and staff.
The handbook provides HEIs with the knowledge and tools needed to promote mental health awareness. In the context of higher education, mental health plays a pivotal role in shaping the overall student experience. Students often encounter various stressors, including academic pressures, social adjustments, and personal transitions. Understanding and nurturing their mental health is essential as it not only influences their academic performance but also profoundly impacts their quality of life during their time at the institution.
The guide is available in English and all partner languages (greek, polish, and spanish) and can be downloaded from the project’s website at awareformentalhealth.eu.
